Bullhead gulch Watershed

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Bullhead Gulch watershed is approximately 13 square miles and is located in Boulder County, the City of Lafayette, the City of Louisville, and the City of Erie. The watershed contains residential development, commercial development, and agricultural land/open space. It is comprised of two distinct sub-basins: Bullhead Gulch, and its tributary, Prince Tributary. Prince Tributary flows into Bullhead Gulch in the lower part of the watershed, and Bullhead Gulch flows into Boulder Creek.

The primary goal of this project is to better understand and map flood risk in this area, and to establish a plan to reduce or manage flood risk. Key elements of the project include:

Baseline Hydrology

Flood Hazard Area Determination (FHAD)

Alternatives Analysis

Conceptual Design
